To the delight of school children and adults alike, the Maryland Dove sailed on the Cheasapeake and down the Wicomico River, dropping anchor in the Port of Salisbury. LESHC was honored to have been invited to sail out on her the last day as guest crew members.

Through a partnership with the Wicomico County Historical Society and the Nabb Research Center arrangements were made to bring the Dove to Salisbury. The Community Foundation of Eastern Shore funded field trips for local school children to visit the Dove. LESHC was a part of the Dove Committee.

The Maryland Dove is one of the educational and interpretive exhibits at St. Mary's City and serves as an ambassador the the museum and Maryland on sailiing outreach trips to ports-of-call around the Chesapeake Bay. The last visit to Salisbury was on 9-11.
