Chesapeake Bay Region Technical Center For Excellence
John General is the CEO of the Chesapeake Bay Region Technical Center of Excellence, an organization dedicated to bringing business and technology to Maryland's Eastern Shore.
John moved to the region after a career in the Navy and entrepreneurial efforts in California. He and his wife began the Avalon Foundation which restored and runs the Avalon Theater in Easton, Maryland.
Though the Center is involved in work across the region, their primary area of focus is in Caroline, Dorchester and Talbot Counties. The Center has support from several sectors of community.
The Center's Regional Focus:

Talbot County
The Center sometimes collaborates with Skipjack and the Rural Development Center of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The Center's Goals Include:
Create a high technology business incubator.
Recruit entrepreneurs to this area.
Assist in recruitment of hi-tech companies.
Improve technology & business infrastructure.
Improve access to capital for area businesses.
Serve as a technology advocate for the Eastern Shore.
Facilitate technology transfer initiatives out of federal laboratories in Maryland.
Innovation within traditional Shore industries is alive and well. The Center provides a variety of services for entrepreneurs and new businesses in the area. The Center's Projects Also Include:

Governor's Rural Wideband Access Task Force
Board Service on Talbot County Economic Development Commission
